 We have arranged an auction of top-class pigeons from a mixture of fanciers, that are at the top of their game, many are household names but also some maybe lesser-known gems, that do not often sell pigeons. Each fancier involved have put in from their very best: I doubt there will be many better mixed auctions in 2024.  Please have a read of the quality that will be in the auction, all without reserves.  For this I must sincerely thank everyone who has supported me in putting this auction on.  John Gladwin 

Mark Bulled, starts us off and he has really pulled out all the stops for this Auction, as many of you know Mark’s family of pigeons are tried and tested over many generations, winning at the highest-level including 1st open NFC Tarbes, be it North rd or South rd, these pigeons make Lerwick, Thurso, Tarbes, Bordeaux etc look easy.  Not just for Mark but for the people lucky enough to have had birds from him.  With other fanciers winning 1st BBC national Thurso, 2nd BICC National Barcelona in 2024 alone 1st LNRC Lerwick, 1st LNRC Thurso, 1st BICC Pau and 1st NFC Tarbes all carry Mark’s bloodlines.

Lot 1 GB24A91752 BP H, What a pigeon to start an all-stars auction, nothing less than direct from a very rare commodity an NFC merit award winner. And full of the very best of Mark Bulled long distance family.  What a pigeon direct from Paddy, 3 x Tarbes NFC wining 22nd, 32nd & 72nd open also winning from Alencon.  In Marks words lot 1 is the very best of his old original family and he cannot breed any better The dam has won 12th open NFC Pau etc and is same way bred as 12th, 23rd, 73rd & 125th open NFC Tarbes.  A nephew won 4th open NFC Tarbes 2023. 

Lot 2 GB24A91740 DP direct from the latest superstar off the Mark Bulled production line. Sire is just a 2021 pigeon but has won 38th LNRC Thurso as a yearling and as a 2-year-old in 2023 he won 2nd BBC national Tarbes and 4th open NFC Tarbes. The dam is just a 2020 pigeon and won 18th LNRC Thurso in 2022 timed on the day and in 2023 18th BBC national and 67th open NFC Tarbes. Lot 2 full of the best of the legacy bloodlines on both sides of the pedigree.

Lot 5 GB24A91730 B C is bred from a direct son of Lady B who won 1st open MNFC and 2nd sec 15th open MNFC Bordeaux. (These lines are also doing well for Mark Gilbert and D&J Staddon) dam of lot 5 is a g.daughter of Gjibert who won 1st BICC Agen and 1st BBC Bordeaux in the same season.  This hen herself won 2nd BBC national Bordeaux.  Big winners galore in this young cock.

Lot 6 GB24A91779 B H, wow this one is the same way bred as Mark’s 2 current superstars Wind Breaker and Superstar. Wind Breaker won 13 fed cards in 14 races including 2x1st feds in all different winds. Super star won 6x1st as a yearling plus 4th, 8th and 30th UBI combine another sister already has 2x1st to her credit.  This is a golden pair of breeders. Sire of lot 6 was  bred by Alfie Hawthorn. look at his results, 1st London combine Darlington 207 miles 1,900 birds, 2022. 2ndfed Newark and 2nd fed Laceby both beat by loft mates. 3rd fed Darlington and 2X 4th fed Wetherby.   He is direct from Rachel Legacy. Dam of lot 6 is Special Lady direct from the Special one of Mick Betts that won 9x1st and 3x1st feds. 

The Next 6 lots are from one of the most consistent lofts in the U.K in recent years. Oakley Pigeons, J&B Oakley These guys know a thing or 2 about breeding animals and how to improve year on year bloodstock being farmers. They also know you need the best blood around to compete at the highest levels and have not been afraid to do their homework and then invest in the best.  Whilst building long term friendships with the likes of Paul Macaloney.  They also have a super hen themselves which is the foundation of the loft called Skyfall she was not just a super racer but she had passed them genes on down the generations. This has given John & Ben a super gene pool to work with, by buying top winning genes not the latest hot name. which has given them some truly remarkable results in the last few years.  Some 2024 highlights include 3x1st section MNFC, 2nd, 3rd and 4th open in nationals. Including 1st and 2nd section 524 miles only sending 2 pigeons. West section average winner for second year on the trot. Runner up in old and combined averages in the MNFC. Matching the record they set in 2023 by taking the first 30 positions in the fed. The very next day they took the first 15 in the fed with the same pigeons, 3 sisters all clocking on the same second. Lot 7 GB24Z28609 Dark Hen Line bred to the famous Black Caviar the very best of Macaloney blood in this hen.  Sire is Black Gold a super breeder of multiple fed winners, 1st Section J NFC and one of the guys foundation cocks in only 2 seasons he bred 8 different top racers.  Dam of lot 7 is a daughter of Tiger Vision and Zulu Caviar to superstars for the Macaloneys.  She herself won 1st section 6th open NFC Messac 359 miles, only beaten by 5 birds on the south coast in a North east wind. put to stock in 2024 she is already breeding winners.

Sire of lot 10 himself is bred from a MNFC open winner. And is sire of there best yb in 2024 which was 2nd sec NFC in the smash yb race and then 2nd sec BICC the week after. Lot 11 GB24Z28595  Blue Cock, this is a nice mixture of the new and the old. Sire Star Boy being a new cock the guys brought in for this season, from Owen Markey, who is a direct son of Movie star, who won 1st, 2x8th and 15th open NIPA up to 21,265 birds. When he was paired to Miss Vervoort, who bred 1st sec, 13th open NIPA. Star boy himself bred 1st ACE pigeon in the fed in his first year. Dam of lot 11 is direct from Ruby Boy when paired to his own G.dam Sky Fall. Lot 12 GB24Z18608 Blue Hen, Sire is the Box 1 cock, he was a super racer winning 3rd sec, 13th open NFC fougeres 328 miles, 6326 birds, in a strong North wind. 5th sec 25th open Ancenis 394 miles 5,160 birds, in a south wind. At stock he is sire and G.sire of winners for both J&B Oakley and others. A real super star cock and is direct from Sky Fall. Dam of lot 12 is only a 2023 late bred but was bred especially by Paul Macaloney for the Oakleys from the superstar Caesar (winner of 9x1sts, against 2,000, 3,000 and 4,000 birds) when paired to he famous 772 hen,  she is direct from the Dream Pair and nestmate to Tiger Vision. The next 2 lots are from Lee and Kevin Buddle. A loft that has been putting up super long-distance results for years and years. Lot 13 GB24V17099 Blue, this pigeon contains the very best of Mark Gilbert bloodlines including the sire being a half-brother to Southfield History.  Sire is a double grandchild of Naomi who won 1st Barcelona and 6th International for Cor De Heijde and the dam of lot 13 is Double Gold she is inbred to Golden Barcelona. Who is responsible for many big winners including 2x1st Barcelona and 1st Perpignan.

Lot 14 GB24D87384 Cheq, this pigeon is direct from 2 of their latest superstar races. Sire being Max who won the Pau national this year and 70th National Bordeaux in 2023.  The dam has scored 7 times over the channel including 10th national Dax and 17th national Pau. She is full of super long distance blood lines including Brockamp George sire of Euro Diamond, Noble Dream 1st International Agen for Bob & Ant Beasant & Matt Rakes Indy. No better long-distance blood than in this cracker.

The next 4 lots are From May Pigeons, who have to be one of the best sprint/middle distance racing lofts around but this is not just a brilliant racing loft. They also bred 100’s of winners each year for others. In club, Fed, combine, National and one loft races. Many lofts owe their success to the May pigeons in recent years. Each week on Facebook and in the BHW you will see multiple winners via the May pigeons. There wonder pigeon Spider-Man alone is responsible for over 600 winners with many of his children breeding 20,30, 50 winners themselves and grandchildren also breeding winners for fun.

Lot 15 GB24N61505 Blue Cock, direct from the brilliant broken legs who is sire to at least 20x1st and in turn is direct from Spider-Man responsible for over 600x1st and 4x1st National. Dam of lot 15 is sister to champion 652 the RPRA award winner of sprint award. Being direct from another Euro and Super Kanon this pair are responsible for over 50x1sts.

Lot 16 GB24N64241 Cheq Cock, sire is Speed 016 a super racer and already sire to 4x1st fed winners. In turn speed 016 is from legends need for speed and Pure Speed both big winners and top breeders. Dam of lot 16 is Verona 025 who was also a top racer and dam of 4x1st Fed winners. She in turn is from the golden pair Romeo and Juliet.  Responsible for over 30x1st.

Lot 17 GB24N61686 Grizzle Hen, sire is a grandson of Pitbull, super big winners around this pigeon. Dam is Olympic Princess she is responsible for many winners including 7x1st feds. She is direct from Olympic Lord and lady. Who have bred many top birds including 1st nat Bourges 22,506 birds. 3rd Olympiad 2018/19.

Lot 18 GB24N61544 Cheq Hen, A super hen and grandchild from 4 of the main breeders at May Pigeons which between them are responsible for over 100 x 1st. the 4 g.parents are Champion 652, Favourite lady, Spider Boy and Emerald. The absolute cream of sprint blood. 

The next 2 lots are from the super consistent loft of Mr & Mrs N Shaw. another super loft that excels week in week out at every distance from 80- 690 miles. Often only sending very few pigeons including winning when only sending 1 pigeon this year and winning 1st BICC with a super performance being 1st, 3rd 4th, 6th, 8th,9th ,10th, 11th, 12th and 13th section. 1st, 3rd, 4th, 15th, 17th, 40th. 41st, 48th and 50th open 166 members sent 1,895 birds. What made the result even more remarkable was Nigel Shaw was the longest flying loft and the race was in April flying 246 miles from Guernsey. Mr and Mrs Shaw won 5x1st Feds, 3x1st section and 1st open National plus loads of top prizes. I predicted 3 years ago the Bat lines from Nigel Shaw would have a massive Impact on distance racing in the U.K.  and already this can be seen with some super results from this line. The Bat is responsible for 1st sec, 2nd open NFC Tarbes, 1st sec Thurso, 1st sec Elgin, 2nd sec Pau, 1st BBC national Tarbes, 20th open Pau, 3rd Titan games and much much more. 

Lot 19 GB24N59277 – Inbred to the Bat line, and a half sister to Mr & Mrs N Shaw Tarbes pigeon in 2024. Sire is the Bats brother he himself has bred 1st sec, 15th open BICC, 2nd sec 20th open NFC, 50th open Tarbes and 2nd sec J 690 miles. Dam is the inbred Insurance, she is direct from the Bat himself when paired to his own daughter Lillie, who won 1st sec 690 miles, 2nd sec 680 miles, 2nd open NFC Tarbes, 20th open NFC Pau, 1st BBC Tarbes, 3rd Long distance Titan games, flying 680 miles as a yearling.  If you want to get birds from 200 to 700 miles these are the pigeons for you.

Lot 20 GB24N23634 CH Cock, again inbred to the Bat, sire is the Bats brother he himself has bred 1st sec, 15th open BICC, 2nd sec 20th open NFC, 50th open Tarbes and 2nd sec J 690 miles. Dam of lot 20 is a daughter of the Bat when paired to a super daughter of the New Laureaat. Both of these lots have true blue blood in them for the longer races be it Pau, Tarbes, Barcelona, Thurso or Lerwick.

The next 6 are from J & G Dutton, these guys have been at the top of the sprinting game for many years, but in the last few years have moved up a level to be one of the best sprint lofts in the U.K in mine and many others’ opinions.  Not only are the guys themselves winning big in a very strong club and fed in the Midlands, but also winning the MNFC and also their blood winning nationals for others.  Jimmy has for a very long time been the man in the know when it comes to the sprint scene in Belgium, more than 10 years ago I went to Carl & Cyril Lambrecht and they had pictures of Jimmy on the wall and when we went down the club in Belgium just about everyone asked if we knew Jimmy Dutton.  This has given them access to the very best sprint pigeons in Belgium for many years, to the point the guys in Belgium have pigeons from Jimmy these days.

Lot 21 GB24A13651 Pied Hen, Pied Princess, we start with a wow pigeon for the first of J & G Dutton. Sire is the number 1 breeder being sire of many winners including 1st open MNFC, multiple fed winners and fed bird of the year, to name a few.  In turn he is direct from Champion 364 who is responsible for generations of champions in Belgium and the UK. Dam of lot 21 is the super special Queen Bee she won 3x1st fed, Tamworth bird of the year and now breeding big winners.  The best of the best of Jimmy Dutton Alex Docx blood in this hen.

Lot 22 GB24A13659 Black cock, perfect combo, sire is Zwart Luc he was the winner of the 2021 RPRA 1 loft race winning by a clear 16 mins, he was also 4th the following year in the yearling final race. What a pigeon he is a 100% Luc Veroort breeding and has bred a winner in his first nest for Jimmy. Dam of lot 22 is the super special Queen Bee she won 3x1st fed, Tamworth bird of the year and now breeding big winners. 

Lot 23 GB24A13641 Pied Cock, Flash, this is a full brother to Queen Bee, sire is the Ace Witpen he is responsible for many winners including 4 children that have all topped the fed twice or more.  Dam of lot 23 is Taboo she herself was a double fed winner and is dam and g.dam to many winners including MNFC ace pigeon and multiple double fed winners and of course the brilliant Queen Bee. The very best Alex Docx blood again in this pigeon.

Lot 24 GB24A13643 Red Hen, The chosen one, this hen is from 2 very exciting pigeons both bred and raced for Jimmy in 2023. Sire 700 he has already racked up 3x1st feds, 1st in a 1 bird open race, 2nd fed, 5th fed and 8th fed etc, in just 11 races.  700 also bred a winner in his nest in 2024. Dam Super 69 is equally as special again only a 2023 pigeon but she won the MNFC and topped the fed in the same season. Plus other prizes. She is direct from the Number 1 breeder see lot 21. When paired to incredible breeding hen Daughter of Superman. From Lambrecht. This is the first chance to buy one this way bred in an auction. Direct from two big winning races. There is a lot more to come from this pair in the stock loft I am sure. 

Lot 25 GB24A13700 Mealy Hen, what an opportunity this pigeon is, she is the full sister to 700 (the sire in lot 24) 700 he has already racked up 3x1st feds, 1st in a 1 bird open race, 2nd fed, 5th fed and 8th fed etc. his sire is Super 256 bred by Alex Docx in Jimmy words he is a phenomenal breeder of 6 different fed winners. The dam of lot 25 is Super 768 bred by Lambrecht from 2 of their best breeders. Super 768 has turned out another super breeding hen, she is dam of not just 700 but also superstars like 57 hen and 098 all big winners and breeding big winners.

Lot 26 GB24A13697 Pied Cock, The BIB, we finish as we started with one direct from the super couple Number 1 cock and Queen BEE. As this cock is same way bred as lot 21.

The Next 6 from D&J Staddon These 6 are from another champion loft. That is always at or close to the top of the results from 50-500+ miles. These guys like many of the top lofts are top stock men and have their own base line and add pure quality from proven racers/breeders into them when the time is right to make the gene pool stronger. Without a doubt any of these 6 will enhance anyone’s stock loft. Pure quality

Lot 27 GB24N64352 Grizzle Cock, Wow what a pigeon being direct from BRB for me one of the best pigeons in the 2023 season, he won 3x1st sections in 2023 in international races he was 4th, 5th, and 26th open national in races from 520 to 644 miles, in 2023 Plus other top prizes before 2023. Already breeding good birds in first year at stock. But it does not stop there look at the Dam of lot 27 Grizzle Queen she is direct from 2 Tarbes Grand national winners, namely Ernies Blue star and Queen Mary. Grizzle Queen is already breeding multiple prize winners including 21st open NFC Sigogne.  

Lot 28 GB24N20806 Dark pied Hen, another super pigeon full of the very best long-distance blood from the Staddons, sire is the super Portrait Boy, who won 1st sec, 2nd open Agen and 69th International 22,000+ birds on the hottest day ever recorded in France.  He also won 26th Nat Agen year before and breeding very good birds in national races. Dam of lot 28 is Classy Miss she is a super breeder of 1st open CSCFC, 3rd sec, 45th open Agen, 33rd Nat Tarbes, even 1st Yelverton 2,884 birds. She is direct from Winters Gem (inbred to little gem) and Lady Legacy direct from Legacy of Mark Bulled both top grand national pigeons. Pair this one to lot 27 and you cannot go wrong IMO.

Lot 29 GB24N20815 BP Cock, the best of there sprint/middle distance in this one. Sire is Meteor Miracle he won 2x1st sections, 2nd & 44th open national plus 6th, 7th, 9th, 13th combine & 23rd and 28th open CSCFC, at stock he is breeding winners and top multiple performers. His nest mate also won 4x1st sections. He is direct from the Real Miracle and Miss Comet, between them they have bred 1st NFC, 5x1st, 6x2nd combine and much more. Dam of lot 29 is Miss Best Kittle in her first year of breeding she bred 2x1sts and 7 other top positions she is from a son of Best Kittle II and a daughter of Best Kittle.

Lot 30 GB24N28002 Silver/Mosaic cock what a pigeon, lot 30 is direct from the absolute star of the staddons loft, Miracle Maker he won 4x1st sections in nationals & Classic. Plus 1st open CSCFC, 2x3rd open BICC, 6th and 20th open NFC. Plus 2nd, 3rd and 2x7th Combine up to 3,684 birds. At stock he is sire 2x1st combine, 2nd, 5th, 8th & 11th combine plus 3rd sec, 13th open NFC Fougeres 5,657 birds. In turn he is from The real Miracle and Comet see lot 29. The next 6 are from Mark Gilbert – Southfield Lofts, these are one of the very best lofts in the world in my opinion.  Mark wins Nationals like they are club races 2023 he won 7x1st Nationals and has won just about everything that can be won in UK pigeon racing.  Just about every award, averages, Internationals and has broken and holds many records, including the only day bird ever into the UK from Barcelona.  In short he makes the impossible, possible and often makes it looks easy. Season in season out, Mark is the one to beat in each and every race. In this auction Mark has put in from his very best middle to long distance lines. Including 2 grandchildren from Southfield History.  The first and only ever day bird from Barcelona into England.

Lot 33 GB24B02541 CH Pied Cock, please read the breeding in this pigeon and then re-read it.  Sire is Southfield Gold, he won 1st National Pau and 6th International Pau 12,631 birds, 30th open St Vincent and 74th open NFC Grand national, plus 17th National Guernsey and 4th Titan games long distance. In turn he is double grandchild of the legend Golden Barcelona.  Dam of lot 33 is Jana she was raced by Batenburg V.D. Merwe and she won as a 2 year old, 1st International hens, 2nd National and 3rd International Perpignan. Before Mark brought her, she in turn is a g.child of superstars New Laureaat, Britta Barcelona, Lloyd and Dena.  Absolute cream of long distance pigeons in lot 33. 

Lot 34 GB24B02497 Ch Cock, full brother to 1st sec E, 3rd open NFC Tarbes 2023, Sire is Hugo 775 a very good breeding son of Southfield Hugo who won 1st Nat Perpignan 2017 and 1st Nat Barcelona 2018. When he was paired to Miss New Laureaat who won 1st Nat Agen fastest from 10,530 birds. Dam of lot 34 is the brilliant sister to Gold Lady, she is dam of 1st sec, 3rd open NFC Tarbes, 4th and 8th open Barcelona.  Her sister won 1st national Barcelona. In turn she is direct from Golden Barcelona when paired to Daughter Romee.

Lot 35 GB24B02496 Ch Pied cock, wow, this must be one of the first grandchildren in an auction from Southfield History.  Sire is from joint breeding between Mark and Battenburg V.D. Merwe. Sire being New Jade 95 who won 7th nat Barcelona for Battenburg when paired to Southfield History, who won 1st national, 4th international hens and 6th International 16,569 birds in 2023, flying 698 miles in 15 hours 51 mins.  Dam of lot 35 is Daughter of Lloyd she has bred 7th, 12th open Barcelona and 23rd open Perpignan. She is direct from Lloyd and Dena making her a full sister to Mother Jana see lot 33.

Lot 36 GB24B02540 Ch Hen, sire is the brilliant Southfield Sebastian the double national winner for Mark, winning Falaise and Agen, plus 1st sec, 18th open nat Alencon and now breeding good birds, dam of lot 36 is New Boswachters Gold, bred by Jan Hooymans. Lot 44 GB23N61367 Blue Cock, the parents are becoming one of our new golden pairs, this pair have bred winners and top national pigeons in 2022, 2023 and 2024. From 10 raced in 3 seasons from this pair we still have 8 and 7 have scored multiple times. The remaining one only had 2 races as a yb this year after hitting wires before racing started.  Sire is direct from the Gold ring pair sky Runner (see lot 43) and Tip Top 076. Dam Is direct from Amor (winner of 1st 19,000 birds and 2nd 16,000 birds and one of the best breeders ever in the uk) and D’Artagian 749 (The best daughter of D’Artagain so far).

The next 3 are from Jose and Gustave Goemaere, a super loft in Belgium and racers of many top pigeons including Gustave XIV, ranked the best sprint pigeon in Belgium in 2023 and best 2 year co-efficient ever in Belgium history. But this is far from a 1 pigeon loft they have many pigeons with 3, 4, 5,10, 12 etc first prizes. The results are outstanding year in year out winning ace pigeons, ace lofts, many championships in Belgium.  Many of you may have not heard of them yet, as the brothers have never looked for publicity or been a selling loft. This is the first time ever at auction for these guys. Only 1 loft in the UK owns pigeons bred by them. Pipa this year paid a small fortune to Purchase Gustave XIV and his parents, but all the other champions remain in the Goemaere lofts.  They have built a very strong base family up over many generations with introductions only from good winning pigeons, not paper pigeons. They follow the rule winners bred winners and like big multiple winners throughout the breeding of their pigeons.  They have a very average to small set up and only the best survives in the stock loft especially.  It is very much 1 in 1 out and the selection is fierce when you have pigeons in the race loft looking to retire, with 5,6,7,8,9,10,11 firsts.

Lot 45 Belg23/1098382 Blue pied Cock, what a super pigeon for the very first pigeon to be auctioned in the U.K. bred and offered by Jose and Gustave Goemaere. This cock actually raced for them and is only for sale as he took a knock.  Racing he won 2x1st and 9 other positions from pont, Noyon, Chateauroux and Argenton. So a nice mixture of distances. The sire was a good racer winning ace pigeon semi fond, by scoring 12 times in the middle distance races in Belgium.  The dam was bred from the lines of the famous New Nationaal 1 and sprint king.

Lot 46 Belg24/1055930 Blue Pied Cock, this is a full brother to the 8th Ace sprint pigeon on Herbots ranking and 15th Ace overall on Herbots ranking in 2023. Winning 2x1st, 3x5th, 2x6th,1x7th, 3x8th and 2x9th positions in 2023. Lot 47 Belg24/1055876 Blue Cock, the sire won 8x1st, 4x2nd and is a brother of the 3rd National Ace pigeon KDBD in 2016. The G.sire won 10x1st and a wonder breeder, dam of lot 47 is Le Miracale, she is proving a super breeder and like many of these pigeons is built on a long line of winners, paired to winners, the sire of le Miracale won 4x1st and one g.sire won 11x1sts and the other 10x1st. big multiple winners breeding big multiple winners year in year out. 

The next lots are from one of the most consistent long-distance lofts in international racing in the UK around currently.  The name David Hales has been at the very top at all distances for many years, be it North or South Old or Y/B’s. However, a few years ago the target become long distance international races, and some super results were achieved later Duncan Goodchild become part of the team. And since David passed Duncan has carried on by himself flying in David name at David loft.  The results have not missed a beat and still this is the loft to beat at 500+ miles.
